Hi elinton,
There are two sides to the market, backers and layers. When you want to back (bet on a horse winning) then you want to make a blue bet (assuming you are using the standard polarity settings in Cymatic). When you want to bet on a horse loosing, you want to make a lay bet (pink).
On the grid, only the front prices (odds) are coloured blue or pink, these are the best prices available to bet on. The cells either side are not coloured, but are of the same type (back on left / blue side, lay on the right / pink side).
The favourite is simply the horse with the lowest odds.
You might want to look at some of my videos. You might also benefit from visiting the Betfair website and have a look to find some tutorials provided by Betfair, that explain how exchange betting works.
Kind regards,
Gavin
