Using Football Odds Predictor

I am very impressed by the Odds Predictor, even though this is the wrong time of year to really use it but I have one query. I had a look at the Russia v Austria Euro Qualifier spreads and there was a big discrepancy between Spreadex and Sporting Index for Home Supremacy. Spreadex had it at 0.25-0.45 while Sporting Index had 0.50 - 0.70. Now, if Sporting Index is correct then there is an opportunity to back Russia at the current Betfair odds but if Spreadex is correct then the current odds are about right. In this situation is it best to just leave the game alone or would you take a punt on Sporting Index having the 'right' spread?

Hi SteveV,

I'd be inclined to leave that one alone. I suspect that country teams don't play enough games for us to give weight to the statistical predictions, I'm not sure. The big difference between the two supremacy estimates does seem to indicate a lack of consensus which I suspect would make this match best avoided.

Kind regards,

Gavin
