Capturing price movements into Excel

Postby philip1099 » Tue Mar 29, 2022 8:16 am

Hello,
I am looking to test some steamer/drifter horse racing strategies using Excel for automation. I need good data on price movements to identify possible opportunities.
I am reasonably proficient in Excel but I would happily pay for someone to speed up the whole project for me!
I initially need to be able to capture prices at pre-determined intervals to identify the market movers. I had in mind, for example, 09:00 then 30 / 10 / 5 / 3 / 2 / 1 / 0 mins before the off but I realise I may need to work with, for example, 'Parading' + 0 / 1 / 2 mins etc then Going Down, At The Post, Going Behind (for flat) as the former won't work if a race is late off. I'd also like to continue capturing prices after the off, perhaps every 30 secs, for In-Play betting.
If there is a developer interested, I can send a spreadsheet 'picture' of what I am looking to achieve.
Many thanks,
Philip

Hi Philip,

For a reasonable fee I can offer you an Excel file that I think will help you with some of those requirements, that you can adapt further if required. We can email to discuss further if you wish?

Parading is not logged in Cymatic currently, so you'd need to base the logging purely on time and whether the race is in-play or not.

Kind regards,

Gavin

Thank-you Gavin, that sounds like it could set me on the right path.

I can live with just using timings; it only falls down when the race is late off which doesn't happen too often.

I can send you a mock-up of what I am trying to achieve and you can let me know if your spreadsheet would be the enabler plus give me the price. Which email address should I use?

All the best,

Philip
