Trading the Draw in Soccer in AUS

Postby gsdanger » Thu Dec 05, 2013 9:29 am

Good Day all in the forum, :?
I have downloaded this excellent piece of software a few days ago, and am still coming to grips with its options.
What I want to know is if trading on the draw in soccer matches can be done with this application?
Living in Australia, I cannot bet live on the internet, so betting the 2nd or 3rd options is not available to me when the game goes "In-Play".

Example time: Soccer Match: today - Swansea V Newcastle. the Draw prices: Back = $3.55, Lay = $3.60.
Assuming a lay liability of $20, I initially Lay the Draw @ $3.60 for $7.69. that part of the trade is straight forward.
Because I cannot bet live on the internet, I place a Back bet on the draw at the same time. In this case, I set the Back price I want @ $7.20 and place a $3.85 bet. This bet naturally is not matched, as the price is still at $3.55 (the game hasn't started yet). I choose to 'Keep' this bet so, when the game goes in-play my back bet is live.
This component of the trade is straight forward. However, I want to have some insurance, just in case the game looks like ending in a 0-0 draw.
The price for backing the draw reduces as the game goes on, without a goal being scored.
I want to be able to set my 'Stop Loss' on the back component of the trade at a price of $2.00 for $23.00 (in this example). If this is matched, and the game ends in a 0-0 draw, I have covered my original Lay bet Liability.
Hopefully this excellent software will be able to accommodate my request. Can anyone assist here by showing me how to set this sort of scenario up?
In anticipation of your support, THANK YOU..!! gsdanger. :)

Hi gsdander,

Thanks for posting in the Cymatic forum and for your appreciation of the software.

If you can't place bets after a game has started, then I don't think there is a solution to your needs.

For your information, there is a stop loss feature in Cymatic, but it does not adjust the stake to spread your losses automatically.

For example if you sent the first bet (LAY $7.69 at odds 3.60) using the following features both turned on: offset (24 ticks, to be at odds of 7.20) with greening, and stop loss (62 ticks, to be at odds 2.0), then this is what would happen:
(note that you ca work out the number of ticks by counting rows on the ladder)

1) $7.69 Lay bet is sent at odds 3.60
2) When the first bet is match, the offset bet is triggered and sent (at + 24 ticks, with greening), so a $3.85 BACK bet is sent at odds of 7.20 (24 ticks above 3.6)
3) If the second bet (the BACK) is still not match and price moves to 2.0 (62 ticks below 3.6), then it triggers movement of the second bet from 7.20 to 2.00, but the stake remains the same i.e. $3.85

So you have not fully spread the loss, because you end up with two bets matched for that game:
LAY $7.69 @ 3.6
BACK $3.85 @ 2.0

The situation is better if you do not tick the Green option of the Offset feature. Then the 2nd bet (the offset) would be $7.69 @ 7.20, which would be moved to 2.0 if the stop loss triggers. So then you would end up with these two bets matched for that game:
LAY $7.69 @ 3.6
BACK $7.69 @ 2.0

In both of the above scenarios the user could then choose whether to manually green the whole market after the stop loss was hit. However, since you stated that you cannot make any bets in-play, I don't think the stop loss or the final greening of the market are possible in your situation.

The stop loss feature cannot currently be used separately from the offset feature.

I hope this helps to further explain the ways in which the offset and stop loss features work.

Further explanation and more examples are in the user guide:

Kind regards,

Gavin

Hi Gavin, and Thanks for your explanation.
I thought it might have been hard wired to the ticks component.
Will explore other avenues to cover the draw.
Once again, Thank you for your time.

Kind Regards. gsdanger

The information you shared in the post about the sports betting is very nice and useful to me. I am glad I visited here and gathered facts which will help me in understanding the soccer. I will look forward to it.
