I get an message to "contact the vendor".

I am running Windows 10.

Any ideas?

Hi Robin,

The error message contains the text "The system cannot find the file specified" which usually means that an anti-virus software has deleted the Cymatic program file (a false identification). Or it could just mean that the installation failed for other reasons such as if you lost your internet connection during the update, but usually it is the anti-virus.

You'll just need to uninstall the software (from Windows Control Panel), then re-install it making sure that your anti-virus allows it (the Cymatic program file is called CyTraderBF.exe). However in some cases you need to also clear any remaining traces of a failed installation before you can get a new one to succeed, in which case you'll need to follow the instructions here:

http://www.cymatic.co.uk/forum/topic143.html#p591

Kind regards,

Gavin

No joy I am afraid.

Even turned-off Webroot to see if it was the problem

BetAngel for BetDaq is working fine.

Same error?

It is important to do everything in the correct order:

Try uninstalling the software then turn off your anti-virus software and keep it turned off whilst re-installing Cymatic. Then with the anti-virus software still turned off completely, open Cymatic to see if it works.

There are two things to keep in mind. You need to clear traces of the a failed installation as mentioned in the document attached to the post that linked to. Also note that the anti-virus software can't simply be turned off at a later stage, it ruins that installation so the installation cannot work thereafter. You must have the anti-virus turned off at the beginning. Only allow the anti-virus to work again after you have proved that Cymatic works without it.

After proving that, you may need to add permissions in the anti-virus software to tell it to allow Cymatic, otherwise it will just instantly delete the file CyTraderBF.exe again.

Kind regards,

Gavin

Gavin,

I have followed the instructions to remove the software.

WebRoot switched-off.

Downloaded the software and tried to install:

Hi Robin,

Delete all files in:

%userprofile%\Local Settings\Apps

So just open Windows Explorer, paste the path shown above into the address bar at the top, then delete all files within it.

Then reinstall the program.

This works for several users who reported the exact same message on another forum (basically the Clickone cache became corrupted on your PC):
https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forum ... orum=vbide

I am not sure, but it might be best to try remove the software using Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs, before doing the delete mentioned above. That should do the job with belt and braces.

Kind regards,

Gavin

You must type it in exactly as shown below, with the % symbols. Don't change the word userprofile either:

%userprofile%\Local Settings\Apps

Which Windows version are you using?

If the above path doesn't work on your version then just go to %userprofile% and then search for the apps within the sub-directories. App's itself contains a subdirectory called 2.0, so you'll know if you've found the correct Apps directories.

Kind regards,
Gavin

Done it!

It worked by using this:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0
