frequent error messages

hi guys wondering if any1 else experiences similar problems to me. I get frequent error messages and problems with this software that can occasionally cost me money do I need to alter some settings maybe ?

just lost another £30 due to bets not getting placed here is the status log for the race if any1 can make any sense of it please let me know.

Hi Mactrader,

Actually those are information messages, not errors. When a market that you have been trading finished, its status is changed to 'Closed' at Betfair. This happens shortly after the end of the race. Then at some later moment Betfair settles the bets in the market. So the Cymatic software has to periodically keep asking for the settled bets information, until Betfair finally does the settlement of the market. Then the software is able to clear out any matched bet from the software, once it knows that they have been settled.

The exact moment when Betfair settles a market is not known, so the software ask periodically until Betfair settles the bets. The messages that you see, are just telling you that the software is trying to get the settled bets. From your log it looks like the sofware is asking every 1 minute, which sounds normal.

The reason there are so many messages, I presume is because you were trading several markets?

these are not the error messages I was referring to gavin that was the status log for that particular race. the error messages are contained in pop up boxes thar frequently occur and multiple times especially if I place a few trades quickly, then when the pop up boxes appear they all have to be closed before I can place another trade by which time the price has moved( more often than not, against me) and that's how I incur losses. another issue I have been having lately is quite often when my first bet gets matched my offset doesn't get placed until I make a further trade any tips on solving would be appreciated. I am going to try making a video that I can send to you so you will have a better idea of what I mean.

moments after my last post it happened again and cost me another £15 this is getting to be a costly week for me, am I doing something wrong does any 1 else experience these multiple pop up boxes?

Ah, OK. Yes please send me a video, or if it is easier initially just send a screenshot of the pop up boxes that you are referring to so that I can see the messages.

it is happening regularly now and most of the pop up box messages read something like order failed. error failed to cancel bet, bet placed with errors. I will try to get something visual for you but it is difficult, as I said previously I cant trade anymore until I have closed all the pop up boxes, so my priority is to close them as quick as possible to try recover my position

Do you have 'Take SP' as the 'At In-Play' setting (bet persistence). If so, this will cause bets to fail if you use that setting after the race has started.

Sorry, I am just guessing without seeing the precise error message.

no gavin I always have on Keep. I have noticed in status log that the following appears every 30 minutes or so.

another problem im having a lot recently is when I place a trade with offset applied about 50% of the time the offset bet does not get placed but if I then place a bet manually the offset gets placed aswell, so basically the software isn't doing what I ask it to do then I have to place another trade to balance my position. its getting really difficult to actually do any trading at all

Hi Anthony,

Those 4 messages indicate that your internet connection to Betfair has been disconnected, then the software automatically reconnects it moments later. I can suggest things that might possibly cause that to happen:

1. If Betfair detects that your internet connection or computer is slow or overloaded, they could disconnect you.
or
2. If your internet connection momentarily cuts off and the connection to Betfair is lost.

The fact that your connection is doing this about every 30 minutes would suggest that one of the above is likely to be true.

Try adding some 'conflation' to your connection to Betfair, it might take the pressure off of it a bit and make it more stable. Go to File | Settings | API Refresh tab, then in the Refresh Method section, change the Conflation setting from 0ms to 300ms. If that doesn't make your connection more stable, try increasing it to 500ms or more until the problem is solved. If the problem can't be solved this this, then it would suggest that your internet connection is cutting off, rather than just being under too much pressure.
