After a long time, I am experiencing the Error:

I opened multiple Sub-Markets in a Main Market and attached different worksheets to them. Then I disconnected all the worksheets and moved to another Main Market. When I tried to attach the worksheets again in the new Market, I get errors:

Since the error pertains to RPC server, I looked at topic1172.html , but didn't feel it applies to me because my same Antivirus and Firewall and .net framework never has caused any such problem all through these days.

Any comments?

Wait ! Problem solved !

The error seems to have been caused because of incorrect closing of Excel. I had earlier closed either the Market Windows OR Excel directly without disconnecting excel first from the respective market window.

Now, when I properly disconnect excel first and then close either the market window or excel, and re-connect later, the error no longer appears.

The same situation had arisen long back and when I revisited the situation now, I had forgotten about that.

As an additional note, I encountered a unicode warning message when I tried to copy the error message into Notepad; it can be seen in the screenshot too that some unidentifiable character is seen in the very last line.

As said in the other thread, here too, I tried to open an Excel sheet using a shortcut key defined in Autoit, when this error occurred; I have been using this method of attaching excel sheet to Cymatic for more than two years, and this is the first time this error has occurred.

I waited 2 days to see if the error recurs, but didn't encounter it anymore, but I also have to say I didn't try using the shortcut key again. Just thought it might be useful to the Developer in some way. I will update this thread if I encounter it again.

Hi Angelo,

I seem to recall that the similar errors that you mentioned in the other topic were to do with using the keyboard instead of the mouse to select menu items and that was fixed by a new version of Cymatic that was released. In this new error I haven't yet been able to reproduce it by using the keyboard instead of the mouse to select the 'Connect Excel' option, or to click on the window that follows it. So I am not sure if this really relates to your use of AutoIt to click the menu options to open Excel (instead of using the mouse), or whether it relates to something else.

Have you changed your Excel version recently?

Hello Gavin,

I have been using Excel 2007 for nearly two years, and have neither changed the version nor updated it. And as I said, this is the only time this error has appeared in the last two years.

Also, I have been using the same AutoIt code both before and after this error had occurred and it never caused any error.

I thought the attached error message (in my last post) could have revealed something.

First I closed an attached Excel sheet, then noticed that Excel had not been fully closed, so Disconnected it from Cymatic, and again noticed that Excel had not fully closed when tried to close it, so I used Windows 7 Task Manager to 'kill' the Excel process, then tried to re-attach it to Cymatic, and this error had occurred. Thanks Gavin; Just remembered that this is the same old problem reported at topic1372.html#p6464 , and also, as said in that post itself, this error was noticed by me 'fairly' long back.

(Oops.... I should have paid some more attention to it and tried to reproduce the problem, at that time itself....)
