Hi

I've just installed Cymatic (on my Windows 7 pc) and activated my 14-day trial. When I access the Settings menu, I get the following:

Hi Greg,

I wonder if the Windows system locale settings (regional/international settings) in your computer are set to a culture that Cymatic doesn't recognise, hence triggering this error.

Please check your local/regional settings as explained here:

What regional settings did you have? Is it English (United Kingdom)? If not please set it to that and try again.

Why this should happen on my pc, and not everyone else's, is a probably another Microsoft mystery

. My Windows is as up-to-date as I can make it but my old Dell Studio is starting to creak a bit!

Thanks for the extra information and that helpful link!

In your link to a forum discussion at Stackoverflow, there is a post by Shawn Steele, looks like the right solution. "Almost all of the new locales in Windows are not assigned explicit LCIDs".

I'll release a new version of Cymatic very soon that I think will solve the problem.

Not sure if it's connected, but regarding the Settings dialog, most of the changes I make do not appear to be saved. I recorded a video of my attempts - here's a link to the file on Dropbox https://www.dropbox.com/s/hhluopepcvcgepm/Video_00020.wmv?dl=0.

As you will see, most things of the things I try to change do not persist, although, strangely, the change in the dropdown in the AutoPilot Trigger does. Also, even though the the addition of a sound file to the "in play" looks like it doesn't work, I'm pretty sure it did start to tell me that markets were in-play after I attempted to change that setting.

Btw, I also get the Culture error when I go to the market selection dialog of the AutoPilot.

I've just installed ACT on another (Windows 7) computer and have experienced none of the issues we've been discussing. I'm going to try re-installing on the original pc, just in case the installation was faulty.

Hmmm - no improvement I'm afraid.

One important difference between my two computers is that the one on which I'm having problems is x64-based. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

I have now released a new version 6.0.12.0 which I think should fix the problems that you have reported.

As usual, the software will automatically update itself next time you open it.

P.S. I'm not sure if the 64-bit aspect was involved. Perhaps your 64-bit version of Windows included some new 'cultures' that weren't in the 32 bit version and one of them was not recognised.
