Error connecting to excel (64 bit)

Postby brianbaru » Fri Nov 10, 2017 2:19 pm

Hi I am getting the following message when I try to connect excel spreadsheets.

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application"

It then asks if I want to quit or continue. If I press quit I exit Cymatic. If I press continue I remain in the program but although Cymatic is saying that I'm connected to excel the spreadsheet does not open.

I'm running Windows 10 and Office 2016

Regards

Brian

Hi Brian,

Thanks for contacting me and I'm sorry to hear that.

1. Can you please tell me exactly what steps you take, because I am unable to reproduce the problem.

2. Demo or live mode?

3. Are you using a previously saved spreadsheet or a blank new one (leaving the name blank when connecting)?

Kind regards,

Gavin

Hi

I've tried both, Demo and Live Mode. I click on the Excel button and try to open a previously saved spreadsheet.

The path and name of the file appears. Click OK and then I get the message as per the attached screenshot. This also happens if leave the name blank and create a blank new one.

Regards

Brian

Hi Brian,

Thanks for that extra information.

I think you can solve it by installing the 32-bit version of Excel, instead of using the 64-bit version of Excel.

It appears to be the exact same problem as mentioned here:

http://www.cymatic.co.uk/forum/topic1099.html

Please confirm if that solution works for you (installing the 32-bit version of Excel), thanks.

Kind regards,

Gavin

One other thing, I'd be keen to see the details that appear when you click the 'Details' button on the error message, if still possible please. You can just copy the text from the details, without needing a picture.

Thanks and kind regards,

Gavin

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I'll try it on another laptop that has the 32bit version.

Hi

Can I send the details privately just in case there is anything personal somewhere in the text?
