Update for future reference purposes:
Precise details of the problem: after begin the installation of Cymatic, a message appears saying 'verifying your application requirements' and the software does not install from there or show any other message.
The solution was to setup a new Windows user (preferably as an Administrator, if you are able to choose that instead of Limited User). Then login to Windows as the new user and then install Cymatic for that user. This will resolve problems that are sometimes caused by having a corrupt user profile.
